Our Guide to the Decree
Union of Industry Actors for the Valorisation of Hemp Extracts (UIVEC)
The "Guide to the Decree of December 30, 2021" is a summary of the regulatory evolution and the content of this decree, its implications, and the next steps. The decree comes after over a year’s worth of work by French authorities, following the European decision from the Kanavape case on November 19, 2020. It repealed the decree of August 22, 1990, which previously regulated the cultivation and use of hemp plants in France, and established a new legal framework that aims to be in compliance with European law.
